EVDC is a new name to many. Its aim is to disrupt the industry, as it currently stands, to become the go-to App for Electric Vehicle owners all over the world. EVDC is already the leading EV charging app in a number of countries around the world, including some key car-owning markets such as Italy. It is now starting to focus its attention on France, Germany, Holland, Spain and Denmark and will then move into the UK. So expect to see EVDC rapidly becoming THE name for EV Charging over the coming months.
THE EVDC DIFFERENCE
EVDC is no ordinary electric vehicle charging company. It was set up by Canadian Tech Entrepreneur, Matthew Teudor, in answer to a perceived need to create a charging structure for EV users that is better for them in all key aspects. EVDC believes it already provides the most user-friendly and cost-effective system on the market. It is also rapidly evolving into a ‘one-stop shop’ package for EV owners and operators.
Core to the EVDC offer is its charging App and the cost benefits behind it. In its latest, just-launched configuration, the EVDC App not only provides access to charging points on an international basis (throughout Europe and other parts of the world) but also allows optimum route planning for motorists. This gives directions which combine the functionality of a top end sat-nav system, with the necessary charging infrastructure along a chosen route, thereby offering the optimum route choices for a chosen journey.
Underpinning everything is EVDC’s aim to provide the best value charging options for its users. Behind this is EVDC’s purchasing power. It has negotiated contracts with electric charging providers in each country it operates in, and this brings wholesale price benefits to everyday consumers. It saves EVDC App users between 25-30% on average (depending on country and chosen charge provider), compared to the standard price structure.
In addition, EVDC charges no subscription fee to its users, and they don’t even have to formally register with EVDC. If the App is downloaded, it can be used instantly with a credit card, and users will receive the full benefits of having the App.
“I became an EV owner,” explains Matthew Teudor, “and I looked at how much I was being charged to use commercial charging points - when I could find them! I realised that, not to put too fine a point on it, I was paying through the nose for charging – as, seemingly, is the case everywhere. I felt there was a need to change things and was in the position that I felt able to do something about it, both from a technical and a financial perspective.”
Matthew set about developing an App which catered for all of the needs of EV drivers and was extremely quick and intuitive to use. At the same time, he started negotiating with charging companies – more than 250 around the world – to buy large blocks of charge at advantageous rates.
“Being self-contained and not having to answer to a board of investors, who want a large - and immediate – return and with the added benefit of not having the overheads of many of the large energy companies, means that EVDC can pass on the benefits of buying charge ‘wholesale’ to its users. We aren’t in it to make huge mark-ups on what we sell to our customers - quite the reverse, we want them to be able to buy the most cost-effective charge on the market, and we believe EVDC offers this.”
EVDC has a simple challenge for EV users. Download the EVDC App and compare EVDC to the App they are currently using. “If you like what you see,” expounds Matthew Teudor, “and we believe you will – then use us. Why would you want to pay more?”
The EVDC offer, however, is not confined to a charging app. It also offers both individuals and companies its ‘Business in a Box’ package. This comprises a simple to use-and-install charger at, it believes, one of the most competitive cost points available. The unit will charge at 7 KWH in domestic settings with single phase charging, or 22 KWH fast charging where three phase electricity is available. That, in its own right is worth looking at, but with EVDC, once set up with its charger, owners can become part of the EVDC network, can offer their charger to others, and can set their own charging rates. This can either subsidise their own motoring or can become a revenue stream in its own right.
EVDC also offers its own Crypto- currency. This isn’t necessary to use the EVDC App, but explains Teudor, “Think of it as electricity tokens! If you are using EVs in different countries, you don’t even have to contend with currency fluctuations, or foreign exchange commission – you simply just use them. It keeps everything simple and cost effective.”
In fact, “simple and cost effective” is really the EVDC mantra.
