RAW Charging launches Dudley’s largest rapid EV charging hub

16 new charging bays, comprising 8 x 150kW ultra-rapid bays and 8 x 300kW ultra-rapid bays
  • 16 new charging bays, comprising 8 x 150kW ultra-rapid bays and 8 x 300kW ultra-rapid bays, including 2 dedicated priority bays.

  • Third site delivered in partnership with Hubber, following the success of the Forest Hill RAW Rapid Hub in South London and more recently the Aberdeen RAW Rapid Hub.

  • Charging speeds of up to 300kW – enabling drivers to top up quickly and get back on the road.

  • Located in Tipton, in the heart of the Black Country, with strong road connectivity for both local drivers and those passing through.

  • Contactless payment and compatibility with all major EV charging apps, ensuring a seamless experience for every driver.

  • RAW has partnered with BYD Stourbridge to bring electric vehicles to the launch event, giving drivers the opportunity to experience and test drive the latest EV technology first-hand.

A new ultra-rapid destination for the Black Country

Zero-emission cars accounted for a record 30% of new UK car registrations in June 2026. As adoption accelerates, drivers increasingly want charging that is fast, reliable and easy to fit around their day.

The new hub also arrives as Sandwell continues to invest in its future. Sandwell Council is progressing a £3 billion regeneration programme to transform housing, transport and energy across the borough, including a £20 million investment in Tipton town centre. This includes major works on Owen Street to create safer streets, improved crossings and a more attractive environment, with the aim of encouraging investment and increasing visitor numbers. RAW’s new ultra-rapid hub adds another piece of modern infrastructure to an area already investing in its long-term growth.

The Dudley site is RAW Charging’s latest ultra-rapid hub, bringing high-power charging to drivers across Tipton and the wider Black Country.

With 150kW and 300kW bays on offer, drivers can add significant range in minutes rather than hours, providing a meaningful step up in speed for those used to slower chargers and a practical option for local drivers without off-street parking at home.

The inclusion of two priority bays reflects RAW’s focus on practical hub design, helping to support driver flow during busy periods and keep the network moving.

The opening further expands RAW’s nationwide presence, which now spans more than 500 sites across the UK. Through partnerships with major destinations already in the local area such as Bentley Bridge and Leamington Spa Shopping Park, RAW’s network includes more than 2,500 EV charging bays across the UK.

Jason Simpson, CEO, RAW Charging, said:

“We’re delighted to bring a new ultra-rapid charging hub to Dudley, giving drivers across Tipton and the Black Country access to charging speeds of up to 300kW. Our Rapid Hubs are designed to make charging easier to fit into people’s everyday journeys, with rapid, reliable charging in convenient locations.

To celebrate the launch, we are offering free charging and coffee on site through RAW Rewards. We are also pleased to be working with BYD Stourbridge to bring electric vehicles to the event, giving drivers the opportunity to experience the latest EV technology first-hand. Together, these initiatives underline our wider mission to make EV charging genuinely accessible for the people who need it most.”

“This launch is another step forward in our mission to make ultra-rapid EV charging more accessible for all drivers across the UK.”
