OSRAM recently provided training on automotive lighting to more than 70 motoring students at The Sheffield College.

OSRAM has been regularly providing training to students this year in conjunction with Mike Smallbone from Aftermarket Business Solutions. This latest stop was no different, with OSRAM’s Henry Bisson and Mike Smallbone delivering a training session on the aftermarket industry, as well as a deep dive into the world of bulbs and the technology behind the humble component.

Throughout the day, more than 70 students took part in the training sessions, which was received well by the students and lecturers alike.

Marketing Director, Henry Bisson, who delivered the lectures on the day, said: “We were pleased to see so many students actively engaging with our material. We saw a lot of passion and desire to learn at Sheffield College and that’s encouraging, as we hear a lot of conversation around the skills shortage in our industry and we wanted to assist in any way possible to keep these young people engaged.

“We also wanted to stress the importance of fitting premium quality and reputable components, as fitting a poor quality bulb may dazzle other drivers, fail prematurely and in some cases, be hazardous in the engine bay and cause damage to the headlight unit, so we want them to learn this information at the start of their career, and hopefully carry it through.”
