The Schaeffler team recently revisited Williams Garage near Winchester for another day of student training
Schaeffler’s Technical Manager, Alistair Mason, recently revisited award winning garage owner, Peter Whieldon, at Williams Garage in Otterbourne, accompanied by belt system guru, Tim Adams. During a packed day, they chatted with the invited college students before delivering free training sessions on double clutches and timing belt systems.
More than 50 students from local colleges took part, where they experienced a live double clutch replacement demonstration from Alistair, followed by Tim carrying out a timing belt replacement and explaining belt system best practice.
Marketing & Digital Media Executive at Schaeffler, Tony Yates, commented: “We have been providing free training for students and apprentices via our Wrenches & Wisdom campaign for over two years. This is now our second visit to Williams Garage, as we know that Peter, like Schaeffler, is dedicated to providing support to the next generation of professional vehicle technicians.
“This year, we had even more students attend, and it was fantastic to see them so engaged in the presentations and obviously eager to learn. We know that we need to continue to support these young people as they continue with their aftermarket careers. After all, without new talent being attracted to our industry the future looks bleak, so we need to invest in them.”
