Ross Toomey, Managing Director of Nottingham-based SMP Europe, is set to hit the ice in support of a great cause

Ross Toomey, Managing Director of Nottingham-based SMP Europe, is set to hit the ice in support of a great cause as he takes part in the UK Charity Allstars Ice Hockey Tournament. The event, taking place this summer, brings together players from across the UK to raise funds for a range of vital charities.

Toomey will be competing to support Prostate Cancer UK, a leading charity working to improve awareness, diagnosis, and treatment for one of the most common cancers affecting men in the UK.

Commenting on his involvement, Toomey said: "I’m pleased to be taking part in the UK Charity Allstars tournament and to be playing on behalf of such an important cause. Prostate cancer affects thousands of families every year, and any support we can give to help raise awareness and fund critical research can make a real difference."

The UK Charity Allstars Tournament is now in its 15th year and has raised over £800,000 for a range of charities since its inception. The event is a celebration of community, teamwork and the power of sport to make a difference.

Ice hockey is in SMP Europe’s blood, having sponsored Team GB ice hockey team for several years, plus various SMP Europe employees, such as Product Manager Sam Gospel, plays for the Leeds Knights. Toomey also coaches Nottingham Trent University ice hockey team in his spare time.

As part of his fundraising efforts, Toomey has launched a JustGiving page, where supporters can make a donation to help him reach his goal:
