Auto Windscreens enables glass recycling through partnership with The Green Parts Specialists
Auto Windscreens has partnered with The Green Parts Specialists, the UK’s leading vehicle dismantling and recycling specialists, to tackle one of the automotive industry’s biggest recycling challenges – vehicle glass.
By training technicians to safely and effectively remove glass from salvage and end-of-life vehicles, the initiative marks a significant step toward reducing waste and supporting sustainability goals.
Shaun Atton, Business Development Director at Auto Windscreens, explained: “Glass has historically been difficult to salvage. We’re delighted we’ve been able to help The Green Parts Specialists to recover and recycle glass, which is a major sustainability milestone. This collaboration not only reduces environmental impact but also helps partners meet their own green targets by ensuring more vehicle components are reused or recycled.”
Joe March, Account Director at The Green Parts Specialists, added: “Removing glass intact has always been a challenge, but thanks to Auto Windscreens’ training, our team now has the skills to do it safely and efficiently. This means less waste, more recycled material, and a stronger commitment to the circular economy – all of which align with the sustainability initiatives that we, our partners and the wider automotive sector are striving for.”
