Castrol and The Race Group take centre stage at The Blend this weekend

Castrol and The Race Group will return as the Official Workshop Partners of The Blend, Garage Hive’s annual conference and networking event, on 18 October at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.

Joining Castrol as a headline sponsor is The Race Group, Castrol’s official leading UK distributor since 2001. Based in Cheshire, The Race Group supplies a diverse range of Castrol products to workshops across the UK, as well as offering high-performance lubricant solutions and technical materials to the automotive sector and other industries.

In a keynote session at the event, The Race Group’s Dave Roberts will be joined by Chris Cotterill, UK Business and Accounts Team Manager at the IMI, and Steve McCann, Chair of Governors at ProVQ, to address current resource issues within the automotive industry.

Castrol will be guiding apprentices on training schemes available to them, as well as potential careers at Castrol Service workshops.

Throughout the day, Paul Round, The Race Group’s technical lead will be available on the Castrol technical drop-in stand to answer questions about oil specifications, product updates and how workshops can ensure they are stocking the correct lubricants and automotive fluids. In the main exhibition area, you will find the team on hand, showcasing the benefits of being part of the Castrol Service network, from accreditation and branding to traffic-driving campaigns and social media support.

Attendees at The Blend will have the opportunity to meet and listen to Maisie Raine, The Race Group and Alex Vere, Garage Services Online, who will be providing insight on how to ‘Stand out from the crowd online: Driving profitable work to your business’. In this session, Maisie and Alex will be raising awareness of how to help workshops drive consumer engagement and workshop growth through strategic online presence.  

Castrol and The Race Group are sponsors of the ‘Garage of the Year Multi-location Award’; winners will be announced during the evening awards ceremony, hosted by comedian and internet personality, Troy Hawke. This award recognises independent garages in the UK and Ireland that have demonstrated exceptional care for their teams, offered superior service to their customers, and implemented strategic improvements to their businesses.
