Cataclean supports IAAF’s mission for greater gender representation in the aftermarket

Cataclean’s Key Account Manager, Maddie Bamber, recently attended the IAAF’s first-ever Gender Balance meeting

Cataclean’s Key Account Manager, Maddie Bamber, recently attended the IAAF’s first-ever Gender Balance meeting to discuss with industry leaders how the aftermarket can build a more inclusive and representative sector.

With the industry evolving, it’s essential that diversity and inclusion become a priority in the aftermarket. Cataclean believes that by challenging stereotypes and showcasing the variety of careers available, the aftermarket can attract fresh talent and better reflect the diverse customer base it serves.

The IAAF Gender Balance Meeting is part of a growing effort to create equal opportunities and challenge stereotypes across the automotive aftermarket. The meeting brought together people from across the industry to discuss how businesses can better attract and support female professionals. Representing Cataclean, Bamber shared her insights on how both attitudes and actions can drive change.

She commented: “I would love to see more female representation at industry events, in garages and across every level of our sector. We need to keep working together to show that this is an exciting, rewarding industry for everyone, regardless of gender.”

Bamber highlighted the challenges women in automotive roles face on a daily basis. Drawing from her own insights, she said, “It’s not uncommon for people to assume my husband knows more about cars than I do, when actually, it’s usually the other way around. Conversations like these are exactly why visibility and confidence matter so much.”

Cataclean is already making progress toward better gender representation, with a growing number of women working across its head office. By sharing behind-the-scenes content and highlighting the people behind the brand, Cataclean want to show that automotive is a place where women belong and can thrive. This is part of its wider commitment to encouraging greater gender balance across the industry.
