Chery to recommend Castrol lubricants and ancillary products as part of a new strategic agreement
Chery Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Castrol that will see Castrol become Chery’s recommended aftersales engine oil and ancillary products partner across Europe.
The agreement, which will run until 31 December 2027, will see Castrol’s oils and lubricants used as service-fill for a growing line-up of Chery Group vehicles sold in Europe, including those of its Chery, OMODA, JAECOO, LEPAS and EXLANTIX brands. Chery Group will recommend and promote Castrol as its preferred strategic partner, and in time, the agreement will include the development of new co-branded products for sale across Chery’s growing European dealership network.
A comprehensive range of Castrol lubricants and ancillary products are approved for use with the current specifications of many of Chery Group’s passenger car line-up, including ICE vehicles, hybrids and EVs. These products are designed to help support the longevity of vehicles and help them operate effectively, supporting reliability, efficiency, engine protection and performance.
Chery Group has approved and will recommend Castrol MAGNATEC 0W-20 C5 from July 2026 for many of its latest HEV and PHEV models, including the OMODA 7 and 9, the JAECOO 8, and the Chery TIGGO 9. Castrol MAGNATEC Hybrid 5W-30 will be recommended for models that use the Group’s 1.6TDGI engine.
Castrol MAGNATEC has been developed to meet the unique demands of modern driving. While a significant 75% of engine wear can happen at the start of a journey and can continue when cars accelerate, slow down and idle in city driving, Castrol MAGNATEC clings like a magnet to critical engine parts and locks in place to deliver 50% better engine wear protection*. This helps to safeguard an engine’s vital components, including the valvetrain, timing chain, pistons, and bearings, from damage and wear.
Other Castrol products to be supplied to Chery-brand dealers will be the Castrol ON range of fluid for Chery Group’s BEVs, alongside Castrol TRANSMAX transmission fluids, Castrol Radicool coolants and Castrol React brake fluids.
Layla Yebaile, Head of Customer & Channel at Castrol, said: “Our agreement with Chery Group reflects Castrol’s continued commitment to supporting global automotive brands as they expand their footprint across international markets. Building on our long-standing partnership in China, we are proud to now support dealerships within the Chery Group across Europe — creating strong foundations for deeper commercial and technical collaboration as both organizations continue to grow.”
