ELLA UK strengthens alliance with OE filtration giant Hengst
HELLA UK extends Hengst partnership for five more years, continuing as the UK distribution partner for premium passenger car and LCV filters.
Comprehensive filtration range includes oil, air, fuel, and cabin filters.
Planned expansion in 2026 to additionally bring transmission kits, crankcase ventilation components, and oil pans to the portfolio.
HELLA UK has announced the extension of its partnership with Hengst, continuing as the UK distribution partner for a further five years and reinforcing its commitment to bringing genuine Original Equipment (OE) parts to the automotive aftermarket.
The agreement covers passenger car and light commercial vehicle filters, including oil, air, fuel, and cabin applications, with plans to expand the range in 2026 to include transmission kits, crankcase ventilation components, and oil pans.
“Extending our partnership with Hengst underlines our dedication to providing workshops with premium filtration solutions made to OE standards,” said Neil Grant, Managing Director at HELLA UK.
The HELLA Hengst alliance brings together two longstanding, like-minded businesses. HELLA, founded in 1899, and Hengst, established in 1958, are both OE manufacturers and system suppliers to the global automotive industry, recognised for award-winning technological innovation and a shared commitment to quality, availability, and independent aftermarket support.
“Hengst filters for the aftermarket meet the same specifications and quality standards as OE,” said Ian Mattacola, HELLA Product and Brand Manager for filtration. “Filters supplied in Hengst packaging are produced in the same manufacturing environment and from the same materials as those fitted to vehicles during original assembly, making them fundamentally the same product.”
The Hengst range offers over 1,900 premium-quality filters covering more than 90,000 cross references for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.
Featuring more than 120 different filter media, each product is designed for high dirt absorption, pressure and temperature resistance, vibration resilience, and precise fitment.
“Modern vehicles place increasing demands on filtration systems,” added Ian. “Low-quality filters can compromise vehicle performance, engine protection, and air quality.
“Hengst filters are engineered to OE standards, giving workshops confidence that they are installing components that safeguard engines, fuel systems, and vehicle occupants alike.”
