FixMyCar appoints Julian Hynd as Chairman of the Board

Today FixMyCar announces the appointment of Julian Hynd as Chairman of the Board as the company sets its sights on future growth.

Following FixMyCar’s management buyout in March, the car repair comparison site founded a Board of Directors including the new owners, Amanda Webb, Matthew Wrankmore and Ben Darby. Today, the new board appointment marks the first independent addition to the board since the recent ownership changes.

Julian Hynd brings more than 30 years of executive experience to FixMyCar, with a strong background in strategy and technology that will support the business’s plans for the future. Having operated at board level for many years in roles such as COO and CIO at Chetwood Bank and COO and CMO at Volkswagen Financial Services, Julian has a deep understanding of building and scaling teams.

Julian’s previous appointment as a Branch Chairman within the Institute of Directors demonstrates his ability to provide strategic direction and high-level oversight that will be the foundation of his role as Chairman of the Board for FixMyCar.

Amanda Webb, CEO at FixMyCar says, “We are very lucky to have Julian joining the board. Having someone like Julian come on the journey with us demonstrates how strong our brand is and reflects the exciting opportunities we have ahead of us. FixMyCar has been through some significant changes, and Julian's exceptional experience and knowledge will be a great asset to guiding the business towards the growth we plan to achieve. We look forward to collaborating with him to define FixMyCar's long-term vision and strategy.”

Julian Hynd, Chairman of the Board at FixMyCar says, “I’m delighted to be joining the FixMyCar, which has grown into one of the UK’s largest online car repair and maintenance marketplaces by focusing on trust, choice and convenience. The team are passionate about making life easier for motorists across the country, and I’m excited to play a small part in helping them achieve that.”
