The Hella Gutmann mega macs S 20 proved a standout hit with the ‘Garage Dragons’ at the inaugural Garage Den, part of the Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) Conference on 4 December 2025 at the DoubleTree Hilton in Milton Keynes.

The advanced diagnostic tool drew widespread praise from the panel, particularly for its Cyber Security Management which brings one-time authentication across OEM-secured platforms at no extra cost, unlocking access to more than 20 manufacturer security gateways.

Hella Gutmann’s UK Sales Manager, Riccardo Sorano, demonstrated how the mega macs S 20 enables workshops to carry out quick and efficient diagnostics on complex, cyber-secure vehicles. Its rugged Android interface and plug-and-play connectivity via Bluetooth or USB-C impressed the panel, underlining the S 20’s combination of power, simplicity and affordability.

“The Garage Den is an excellent platform to showcase practical innovation,” said Riccardo Sorano. “The enthusiasm from the dragons highlights just how much independent garages value tools that save time, boost productivity and give them confidence to work on modern vehicles.”

The panel, known as the Garage Dragons, consisted of leading independent garage owners from across the UK, including Tina Drayson of CCM Garages, Matt Cleevely of Cleevely Group, Randeep Reehal of Courtwood Car Services, Gary Wood of Intelligent Auto, Tim Guidotti of Ferdotti Motor Services and The Fleet Guy, and Michael Shaikly of Shaikly Motor Services.

The launch of the Garage Den marked a first-of-its-kind initiative, bringing suppliers and independent garages together to co-develop commercially ready products, services and systems.

Over the next six months, the supplier-garage partnerships will refine their concepts, with progress showcased at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event in June 2026.

"We were delighted to accept an offer from Gary Wood at Intelligent Auto and are really looking forward to collaborating with him over the next six months,” said Riccardo. “This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to refine our solutions together and deliver even greater value to independent garages."
