Laser Tools celebrates 50-year anniversary with launch of new apprentice support scheme
Laser Tools is celebrating its 50-year anniversary with the launch of Future 50 - a new initiative designed to support aspiring young mechanics in their first steps into the automotive aftermarket.
The Future 50 will be officially launched at a special anniversary milestone event on Tuesday 24 March at Laser Tools’ head office Southam, Warwickshire.
As part of the same event Laser Tools will also unveil 50 new tools, each complete with a 50-year warranty, with the reveal taking place during a special episode of ‘Laser Live’ – broadcast on Laser Tools’ dedicated YouTube channel.
Laser Tools Future 50 will offer garages the opportunity to nominate their apprentices – the qualifying criteria being those already enrolled in training and actively working within a garage – to be part of the new initiative.
The chosen Future 50 will each receive a Laser Tools Apprentice Tool Kit, complete with various high-quality products, to support their development as young mechanics beginning their career journey in the industry.
They will also have the chance to win one of three pairs of VIP racing tickets to a British Touring Car Championship race at Brands Hatch 11th October, with advice, training and accreditation opportunities also to be announced as part of the Laser Future 50 scheme.
Eddie Altham, Laser Tools Managing Director, said: “We are very proud to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of Laser Tools.
“It’s a magnificent milestone to achieve and gives us an opportunity to reflect on how far the company has come since Martin Smith founded the business.
“While it’s a time to reflect, it’s also an opportunity to focus on the years ahead and the Future 50 is designed to do that by supporting the next generation of mechanics and technicians.
“With the wider automotive aftermarket facing a skills gap, it’s a good time to launch the Future 50 as it provides practical support to young people beginning their career journey in the industry.
“We are also launching the 50 new tools range, each with a 50-year warranty. As always, the new products showcase both our commitment to technology and innovation, and support mechanics and technicians with the right tools for their workshop requirements.”
For the 50 new tools launch, there will also be a special edition of Tool Saver, Laser Tools’ dedicated parts catalogue, with 16 additional pages and expert reviews of all the new products.
