Motorvate Showcase offers challenges and opportunities

Key attractions in the Motorvate Zone include the IMI Skills Competitions Showcase

With just a few days to go until doors open for Automechanika Birmingham 2025, the leading trade exhibition is putting the spotlight on careers, skills and training in the automotive aftermarket through its brand-new Motorvate initiative, a high-energy, interactive zone set to be a headline feature of this year’s event.

With more of a festival feel than a traditional trade show, Motorvate brings the fun and challenge to automotive training and recruitment. From simulators, games and diagnostics to design and practical testing, attendees will have the chance to test their knowledge, beat the pros, meet industry influencers and win big.

Key attractions in the Motorvate Zone include the IMI Skills Competitions Showcase, offering practical challenges across Light Vehicle, Commercial Vehicle, Body Repair & Refinishing. Daily winners will be crowned for top performance.

The Test Centre (with Pro-Moto) will offer a mix of theoretical and hands-on EV technology challenges to put your skills to the test. Plus, Autotech’s 'Beat the Pro' Challenge gives showgoers a chance to go head-to-head against a NAPA BTCC racing driver in a driving simulator.

Bosch’s Find the Fault game asks visitors to use professional-grade diagnostics to detect faults under time pressure, with rewards for speed and accuracy. Over at Castrol & The Race Group, attendees can test their technical knowledge with their Ambassador Oil Look-up tool.

Plus, Kwik Fit Tyre Genius Challenge asks visitors to match homologated Pirelli tyres to their scale model supercars and SATA has a Spray Gun Design Challenge (with School for Thought). Asking visitors to get creative and use SATA’s software to design your own custom spray gun. The winning design will be brought to life as a real, professional-grade tool.

Visitors can walk away with more than just industry insight at Motorvate. They can choose from a plethora of prizes such as Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Apple vouchers, BTCC tickets and VIP hospitality, £1,000 training vouchers, Workshop merchandise and branded giveaways.

Joanne Knowles, Event Director at Messe Frankfurt, organisers of Automechanika Birmingham, commented: “Motorvate represents everything we believe the industry needs right now - energy, inspiration and opportunity. Whether you’re a student, apprentice or garage professional, it’s a chance to connect and learn more about all of the exciting career paths in the sector. Plus, you can put your skills to the test and have a chance of winning some fantastic prizes – what’s not to love?”
