Oak Tyres offsets the equivalent emissions of 23.4 million miles driven in a car
This World Earth Day, 22 April 2026, independent tyre wholesaler, Oak Tyres, is pleased to mark an important sustainability milestone. Working alongside environmental partner, Ecologi, the company has offset 9.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions and supported the planting of more than 70,000 trees.
A dedicated partner of Ecologi, Oak Tyres continues to demonstrate its environmental commitment as the brand understands the importance of being climate conscious and sustainable.
Over the last 12 months, Oak Tyres has continued to support many global projects, such as the distribution of fuel efficient cookstoves to communities around Kenya to help combat greenhouse gas emissions and improve the respiratory health of many families by reducing the levels of indoor pollution.
The impact of Oak’s carbon offsetting to date is the equivalent of 7,059 long haul flights, 27,600 square metres of sea ice saved or over 23.4 million miles driven in a car.
Peter Cross, Oak Tyres’ Commercial Director, said: “Tyre brands need to treat sustainability not as a passing trend, but as a core responsibility. Our longstanding partnership with Ecologi continues to grow stronger as we work towards becoming a more climate-conscious and sustainable business. Looking back at what we have accomplished together so far makes the journey even more meaningful and highlights the real impact that collaboration can achieve.”
