Shropshire vehicle customisation business set to expand with second branch
A growing Telford vehicle customisation and protection business trusted with some of the region’s most prestigious cars is expanding into Shrewsbury following increasing demand for its specialist services.
Autoshine and Tinting, based on Halesfield in Telford and founded by Duncan Richards, is investing £20,000 into a second county branch in Shrewsbury which is expected to create four new jobs. The new branch is on Vanguard Way, Battlefield.
The company, which began with vehicle valeting and window tinting in 2002, has evolved into one of the UK’s leading specialists in Paint Protection Film (PPF), vehicle wrapping and luxury car enhancement, working with high-end vehicles straight from dealerships as well as private owners across Shropshire, the West Midlands and beyond.
The expansion marks another milestone for the business which has built a strong reputation for protecting and transforming prestige, performance and luxury vehicles through specialist wrapping, detailing and paint protection services.
The business has recently taken on a full time member of staff, Adam Smith, after he completed his apprenticeship at Autoshine and Tinting which in turn has allowed Duncan to recruit another apprentice.
Duncan Richards said: "Cars are more expensive than ever, so people are increasingly looking for ways to protect what is often their second-largest investment after their home.
"Paint Protection Film allows owners to keep their vehicles looking almost brand new throughout their ownership, while colour-change wraps offer the excitement of driving what feels like a completely different car without the cost of replacing it. It's a practical solution that combines protection, personalisation and value retention.
“What started as a passion has developed into a thriving business which is trusted with some incredible vehicles. With so many of our existing customers being from Shrewsbury, opening a dedicated branch here is the natural next step for us.”
Duncan said specialising in high end vehicles had allowed him to gain a national reputation and the boom in business, along with increased business through his sister company UK Tinting Solutions Ltd, had created the need for the second branch.
“We have been trusted to work on high-end luxury and performance vehicles for many years, including cars supplied directly by dealerships and private owners. However, our approach has always remained the same, whether it's a supercar, a family SUV or a daily driver, every vehicle receives the same level of care, attention to detail and customer service.
“Alongside our vehicle protection and styling services, we have also seen significant growth in the architectural window film sector through our sister company, UK Tinting Solutions Ltd,” he said.
“Glass is a fantastic feature in modern buildings, bringing in natural light and creating a more open environment. However, it often needs managing when it comes to heat gain and sun glare, particularly during the warmer months. Thanks to significant advances in window film technology, we can now help property owners and tenants improve comfort, privacy, security and energy efficiency without the cost and disruption of replacing existing glazing.
“The new Shrewsbury branch gives us the space and capacity to continue that growth while creating new opportunities for our existing team members and the talented people we recruit in the future. It also makes our services more accessible to customers across Shrewsbury, Shropshire and Mid Wales, allowing us to better support both our automotive and architectural clients.”
