Bridgestone Potenza Sport Setting the Pace for UHP Tyres
Few products in recent years have embodied Bridgestone’s pursuit of excellence quite like the Potenza Sport.
The next-generation tyre delivers exceptional dry performance, paired with outstanding wet handling and braking – a combination officially validated by TÜV SÜD, one of Europe’s leading automotive testing bodies.
Offered in 96 sizes ranging from 17” to 22”, the Potenza Sport has already carved a premium position in the market, landing original equipment status with performance giants like Lamborghini, Maserati, and BMW.
By blending Bridgestone’s deep-rooted innovation in high-performance engineering with comprehensive feedback from motorists, Potenza Sport is purpose-built to empower drivers with control and confidence on the road.
Setting a new benchmark in performance
Bridgestone’s Potenza Sport sets a high bar in UHP tyre performance. It leads the way in the dry – including braking and stability – while also excelling in wet grip, with an EU label A-grade across the full line-up.
In rigorous testing by TÜV SÜD, the Potenza Sport was found to offer the best-in-class performance in dry braking and both straight-line and cornering stability, when compared to other premium tyres [1]. TÜV SÜD also named it the top performer in wet handling and cornering [1], making it a complete performer in all conditions.
Engineered for the real world
The development of the Potenza Sport began with extensive market research, where Bridgestone engaged with more than 3,800 motorists across Europe to understand what they want from a performance tyre. Their insights laid the foundation for a product engineered not just for speed, but for everyday control and confidence too.
Innovation is embedded in every layer of the Potenza Sport. Advanced 3D sipes in the tread pattern enhance stiffness and improve braking performance and wear resistance. An all-new compound, using an optimised formula and state-of-the-art mixing technology, boosts grip in both wet and dry conditions.
Meanwhile, a hybrid crown reinforcement enhances stability at high speeds, and a redesigned sporty carcass improves steering response while optimising rolling resistance.
Sustainable innovation at its core
Potenza Sport is also a showcase for Bridgestone’s forward thinking innovation. Developed using the company’s proprietary virtual tyre development technology, it allows engineers to simulate and predict tyre performance without the need to physically produce and test prototypes – providing a saving of up to 60% in raw materials and emissions for original equipment tyres and 25% or more in replacement tyres. It also reduces design loops, eliminating up to 200 physical protypes and cuts physical vehicle testing by around 80%.
Chosen by the world’s elite automotive brands
Custom Potenza Sport tyres have already earned the trust of top-tier car manufacturers. Maserati selected it for the MC20 supercar, Lamborghini chose them for the Huracán STO and as original equipment, Porsche recently commissioned bespoke Potenza Spor tyres for the Macan Electric and the new Panamera.
Bridgestone’s legacy of performance continues
“The Potenza Sport stands as a testament to Bridgestone’s long-standing legacy in premium high-performance tyres,” said Drew Chapman, Consumer Products Sales Director UK. “It brings together our deep motorsport heritage, cutting-edge engineering, and an unwavering commitment to delivering what drivers need most—control, confidence, and outstanding performance.”
“Developed through extensive research and innovation, Potenza Sport continues to embody Bridgestone’s premium quality, helping drivers unlock the full potential of their vehicles.”
