DriveTec expands braking range with launch of bi-metallic brake discs

DriveTec has expanded its braking portfolio with the launch of a new bi-metallic brake disc range

DriveTec has expanded its braking portfolio with the launch of a new bi-metallic brake disc range, strengthening its offering in the premium and performance segment of the aftermarket.

Manufactured using a dual-material construction, combining a cast iron braking surface with a lightweight aluminium hub, the discs deliver up to a 20% reduction in weight compared to conventional equivalents. This helps reduce unsprung mass, supporting improved handling and ride comfort, while also aiding heat dissipation under sustained braking conditions.

The result is a braking product that offers OE-matching performance characteristics.

Mark Knight, Senior Business Manager at GSF Car Parts, said: “Expanding into bi-metallic brake discs is an important step for DriveTec as we continue to develop the range in line with vehicle technology and customer demand.

“This launch allows our customers to access a more advanced braking solution, particularly for premium applications, without the cost typically associated with OE supply. It’s about giving garages the right product choice to meet evolving vehicle requirements, while maintaining strong value and availability through our network.”
