Exol Lubricants launches new-to-range Optima FS 0W-16

Optima FS 0W-16 is formulated with low-viscosity and low-SAPS, adhering to API SP-RC, API SP and ILSAC GF-6B specifications

Exol Lubricants has announced its latest range expansion with the addition of Optima FS 0W‑16, a cutting-edge, fully synthetic engine oil engineered to meet the performance demands of modern petrol and hybrid engines, whilst delivering enhanced fuel economy.

Optima FS 0W-16 is formulated with low-viscosity and low-SAPS, adhering to API SP-RC, API SP and ILSAC GF-6B specifications. The oil was developed to address two common challenges in newer engines - improving fuel efficiency and safeguarding sensitive after-treatment systems such as petrol particulate filters (PPF) and catalytic converters.

Exol’s new Optima FS 0W-16 offers many benefits including fuel economy improvements, as the reduced internal friction from 0W-16 viscosity allows engines to run more efficiently. Plus, it is formulated to reduce the risk of Low-Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI), a common concern in modern direct-injection and turbocharged engines. The low-SAPS chemistry also helps prevent deposit build-up in turbo components and exhaust after-treatment systems

Additional features include cold-start performance and smooth operation across temperature range as the oil flows rapidly at low temperatures for immediate lubrication yet maintains a stable protective film under high engine load and heat, thanks to advanced synthetic base stocks and high-shear stability and with controlled SAPS levels. Optima FS 0W-16 supports long-term durability of PPF/catalytic converter systems, essential in light of tightening environmental regulations globally.

Steve Dunn, Sales & Marketing Director at Exol Lubricants, commented: “Optima FS 0W-16 represents our forward-looking response to evolving engine technology, environmental requirements and customer demand for fuel-efficient, high-quality lubricants. Our latest range expansion gives workshops and fleets a robust, future-ready option for the latest generation of petrol and hybrid vehicles.”
