High-torque, twin-hammer impact wrenches join Laser Tools’ 50th anniversary range
Part of the new Laser Tools 50th Anniversary range are these two high-performance twin hammer impact wrenches built for professional workshop use: the 9290 1/2" drive and the 9291 3/4" drive. Both combine a lightweight magnesium alloy front body with a composite rear body and handle, giving technicians a compact, powerful and easy-to-handle air tool with serious torque output.
Designed for fast wheel work, suspension jobs and general heavy-duty maintenance, the two models share the same core construction and performance philosophy, but are aimed at different applications. The 9290 1/2" drive is the lighter, more compact option for everyday garage use where 1/2" drive sockets are standard and access is tighter. The 9291 3/4" drive is the heavier-duty choice for larger fixings and commercial vehicle work, making it especially well-suited to HGVs and other high-torque applications.
Both models feature a twin hammer mechanism, 8,500rpm free speed and a nut-busting torque of 2,200Nm, giving technicians the breaking power needed for stubborn fasteners. The 1/2" drive model delivers 1,080Nm working torque and 1,283Nm maximum torque, while the 3/4" drive version provides 1,013Nm working torque and 1,215Nm maximum torque. Despite their output, they remain impressively light at just 1.7kg for the 9290 and 1.8kg for the 9291 and feature 8,500rpm free speed and 5.5cfm air consumption at 90psi.
The choice between the two comes down to the job. Choose the 9290 for broader workshop versatility, lower weight and compatibility with the most common socket size in car and van servicing. Choose the 9291 when the priority is maximum drive strength and larger fasteners, particularly in heavy-vehicle maintenance.
