  • New WABCO Solenoid Repair Kits enable fast, targeted repairs for Volvo gearbox actuators used in AMTs

  • Designed for Volvo FH, FM and FMX models using WABCO AMT technology

  • OE-quality solution with full technical support from ZF Aftermarket

ZF Aftermarket has launched an important addition to its WABCO gearbox repair range with the release of new Solenoid Repair Kits for Volvo gearbox actuators, used in popular heavy-duty truck models including Volvo FH, FM and FMX. These kits offer a smart, sustainable and cost-effective solution that allows workshops to repair only the faulty solenoid, rather than replacing the entire actuator.

Used extensively in Automated Manual Transmissions (AMTs), the gearbox actuator is a critical component for controlling gear selection. Until now, failure of one of the solenoids within the unit would often mean replacing the entire actuator, incurring higher costs and leading to longer vehicle downtime. The new repair kits from ZF Aftermarket provide a practical alternative, enabling the technician to isolate and fix the issue at source.

The kits include a pre-tested OE-quality replacement solenoid, a new sealing set, and all necessary hardware, backed by detailed technical fitting instructions. With more than 1.3 million vehicles worldwide using WABCO’s AMT systems, this solution is applicable to a vast portion of the commercial vehicle parc and aligns with ZF’s commitment to circular economy principles by reducing unnecessary waste and extending component life.

ZF also offers dedicated tooling for solenoid removal and reinstallation to ensure a safe, clean and efficient repair process. For added peace of mind, support is available through ZF’s online training, technical hotline, and a wide network of distribution partners.

With the new WABCO Solenoid Repair Kits, ZF Aftermarket is not only reducing repair costs, but also giving workshops greater control over component-level maintenance – ensuring trucks spend more time on the road and less time in the workshop.
