Laser Tools launches new ‘How EV Ready Are You?’ survey
Laser Tools has launched a new survey to gather insights from independent garages and autocentres on their readiness for making the switch to working on electric vehicles.
The ‘How EV Ready Are You?’ survey is launched in partnership with GarageTalk and is exclusively available to those subscribing to GarageTalk’s weekly newsletter. Anyone taking part in the survey will be entered automatically into a prize draw, with the opportunity to win a Laser Tool socket set 3/8"D 20 piece, from the 50th anniversary collection.
The new survey gives garages and autocentres the opportunity to provide their views on how they are adapting to the transition to electric vehicles (EV) in their workshop. It forms part of a new Laser Tools EV campaign, to be launched soon, dedicated to supporting garages making the switch to working on EVs.
The ‘How EV Ready Are You?’ survey is designed to find out how well set up, or not, garages are for the EV switch, the challenges they face when working on EVs and barriers to taking on EV work. The survey also asks what garages require to help make the move over to EV, including training, specialist equipment and tooling.
The survey is also seeking to discover how many garages are currently working on EVs and the range of electric vehicles they are working on, including plug-in electric vehicles (PHEV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).
Eddie Altham, Laser Tools Managing Director, said: “By launching the ‘How EV Ready Are You?’ survey, we want to find out from garages, independent and franchised, and autocentres their views on one of the hottest topics in the aftermarket.
“We want to hear from garage owners, mechanics and technicians about their experience of EVs in the workshop, and how equipped, or not, they are to make the switch over.
“If not, what is holding them back, what are the challenges they face, be it safety issues, training or specialist tooling, and what can companies such as Laser Tools do to help and support them.
“We would encourage garages and autocentres to get involved in the survey. It will give us a comprenhensive overview of the aftermarket’s current thinking on EVs and help to inform our EV campaign activity, which is all about how we support garages on their EV journey going forward.”
