  • Join Steve Fox on 4th June at 11:00 for a practical guide to ADAS servicing, calibration, and profit potential

Hella Gutmann will shine a spotlight on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at Automechanika Birmingham next month. The presentation, titled “ADAS: Today’s Opportunity and Tomorrow’s Technology,” is scheduled for Wednesday, 4th June, from 11:00 to 11:25 in the Workshop Hub.

Steve Fox, Technical and Training Manager at Hella Gutmann, will guide independent garage owners and vehicle technicians through the growing significance of ADAS in today’s workshops.

“ADAS is no longer a feature exclusive to premium vehicles,” Steve explains. “It’s now standard on many of the cars you’re already servicing. The crucial question is, how many ADAS systems does each vehicle have, and what impact does the routine work we do have on these systems?”

The session will focus on how ADAS technology is rapidly becoming an essential part of vehicle maintenance and repair. Steve will outline what workshops need in terms of equipment, diagnostic tools, remote access, training, and technical data to handle this evolving demand efficiently. He’ll also cover how investing in ADAS capabilities can boost profitability by opening up new service opportunities and helping garages retain customers who might otherwise turn to dealerships. Finally, the talk will offer a forward-looking view of upcoming ADAS developments.

“For independent garages, investing in ADAS calibration is more than just a technical necessity, it’s a valuable business opportunity,” said Steve. “It’s not just about generating new revenue streams. It’s also about building customer loyalty and positioning your workshop as a professional alternative to the main dealers in a rapidly evolving market.”
