Fleet use of recycled parts enters “new era”

Fleet use of checked, graded and provenanced recycled parts is being made faster and easier

Fleet use of checked, graded and provenanced recycled parts is being made faster and easier with a new partnership between epyx and The Green Parts Specialists.

The deal means fleets can choose from the supplier’s online catalogue of 350,000 recycled parts for delivery or select a “supply and fit” option for engines and gearboxes. The supply and fit jobsheet can be easily logged onto epyx’s industry standard 1link Service Network service, maintenance and repair (SMR) platform.

All parts are checked to Vehicle Recyclers Association (VRA) standards while The Green Parts Specialists, part of the Copart family of brands, are VRA certified and meet the BS10125 BSI Kitemark for vehicle damage repair.

Lewis Woolnough, sales director at The Green Parts Specialists, said: “There is growing fleet demand for recycled parts both from a cost point of view and because they are more environmentally friendly. This new partnership will help to satisfy that need.

“Fleets can easily search through our catalogue of recycled parts, the largest available in the UK, with every item checked, graded and provenanced to the highest available standards. Delivery is available next day on a nationwide basis from our hubs across the country, together with a 12-month warranty.”

In addition to their recycled parts offering, the ‘supply and fit’ service from The Green Parts Specialists is designed to help customers reduce costs, vehicle downtime, and environmental impact. Their team sources and tests high-quality engines and gearboxes from dismantled vehicles, offering a full turnkey service that includes collection, professional fitting by skilled technicians, and return – all within a week.

Lewis said: “Really, this deal has the potential to bring about a new era for recycled parts in the fleet sector, making fitted, high quality parts more accessible than ever before.”

Greg Tucker, director of OEM and network management, at epyx, added: “Fleets often refer to this option as ‘green’ parts – a reclaimed manufacturer vehicle component, safely removed from a donor vehicle and re-used as an environmentally sustainable alternative to a new part.

We believe fleets and garages may find this to be an attractive alternative given the potential not only for some cost savings but also environmental advantages.

“Our new partnership with The Green Parts Specialists provides a highly effective route to incorporate recycled parts into standard SMR processes, and we’re expecting interest from fleet users of 1link Service Network to be considerable.”
