Fourth time lucky for Motul?

  • Motul Nominated For 2025 International Historic Motoring Awards

Motul has made the short list of nominees for the 2025 International Historic Motoring Awards.

These prestigious annual accolades honour companies, organisations, events and even cars that have been outstanding in the historic motoring sector in the last 12 months, and this is the fourth year in a row that Motul has made the shortlist in the category for Industry Supporter of the Year.

The range of activities that Motul is involved in, across the classic and historic sector is expansive.

In its core lubricant and fluid business, Motul was the first company to design and launch era-specific motor oils - all of which are designed to take into account the changing regulations of different periods of motoring, as well as the evolution of fuels together with the increases in performance, economy and environmental impact demanded of vehicles in a particular time period. Motul therefore has a product designed to cater for just about any historic vehicle around.

The Motul brand is prominent across specialist manufacturers in the industry – the likes of Ruf and Brabus for their classic creations, as well as others such as others such as Caterham. Its flagship synthetic oil – the first onto the market – Motul 300V is still the choice of Historic Motorsport competitors the world over.

Motul is also a key partner of some of the world’s leading historic motoring events - Le Mans Classic, The Tour Auto, Goodwood Revival, Classic Dakar, London-Brighton Veteran Car Run and the Isle of Man Classic TT, among the many. It also partners many leading race teams and preparation businesses in the sector – in the UK alone this includes names such as Jordan Racing, ERA Motorsport, Gibson Engines, R E Performance, United Autosports and BRM.

Motul has also pioneered assistance for competitors and car club members at various of the events it partners, by bringing its Mobile Oil Laboratories to the events and offering free oil analysis for those competing/attending. This has saved numerous machines from catastrophic failure and their owners huge amounts of money, as well, in the case of racers, as avoiding potentially dangerous on-track situations.

The next generation of historic racers and restorers is also a concern to Motul, and it is proud to have been a major partner in the upcoming Paddock Speedshop TV series, which “promotes historic racing and restoration to the next generation.”

“We are thrilled to have made the shortlist, once again this year, for these prestigious awards,” explains Motul UK Country Manager, Andy Wait. “We have come close every year for the last three. Perhaps 2025 will be our year – but regardless, we are honoured to be recognised anew for our contribution to this important - and ever-growing – part of the automotive landscape. Like those who work with, or who enjoy, historic motoring, our passion in being part of it, we hope, shines through.”
