Frasle Mobility promotes Toby Whewell to Managing Director of its UK Operations
Toby Whewell has been promoted to Managing Director of Frasle Mobility’s UK operations, following the announcement that Mark Clegg will retire from the position and leave the business at the end of the year.
With a successful career in the automotive aftermarket spanning almost three decades, Whewell is well positioned to drive the organisation forwards, having most recently held the role of Sales and Marketing Director within the business for the past eight years.
Whewell, who joined Juratek in 2017, also played a pivotal role in the company’s acquisition by the Brazilian multinational in 2023 which has since seen the Fras-le and Nakata brands added to the company’s UK portfolio, alongside Abtex which was acquired by Juratek in 2021.
Mark Clegg, who joined the business in 2015, previously held the role of Operations Director before assuming his position as Managing Director in 2024. He leaves behind his legacy in the aftermarket which started in a local Motorworld store almost 40 years ago, to spend more time focusing on aspects of his personal life and family.
Speaking on his retirement, Clegg says “Since joining this infectious industry after leaving school, I’ve enjoyed a varied career and have been fortunate to meet and learn from many inspiring people who have shaped my journey.
The past 11 and a half years at Juratek have been incredible, and I’m proud to have led the team through its continued transition into the Frasle Mobility family. The business is in great shape, with fantastic people ready to take it into its next chapter. I wish everyone continued success and thank them for the memories.”
Clegg will resume his previous role in operations until his retirement at the end of the year, with Whewell formally stepping into the role of Managing Director from 1st August.
Commenting on his appointment, Whewell said “I would like to thank Mark for his invaluable contribution over the past 11 and a half years, and also Frasle Mobility for trusting me with this position as we enter the next phase of our journey.”
As part of the company’s restructuring, Chris Bowman has been promoted to Head of Sales following a successful tenure as an area sales manager, a position he had held since joining the business in 2017. Bowman will be responsible for overseeing sales for all brands within the UK portfolio which are distributed out of the company’s sites in Doncaster, Bradford, and Belfast respectively.
These changes follow further strengthening of its senior management team in the UK which included the appointment of Martyn Holt earlier this year as Product and Purchasing Director to oversee product development, lead procurement activity and drive supplier relations.
Whewell added “We have a busy and exciting few years ahead of us, and I look forward to working with the great team that we have in order to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves.”
