OSRAM and Ring to host a seminar at Automechanika
Renowned lighting specialists, Ring and its parent company, the global leader in automotive lighting, OSRAM, have revealed it will be hosting a seminar at Automechanika Birmingham at the NEC on 5th June.
Alongside having a joint stand at Automechanika Birmingham in hall 19, stand P100, experts from Ring and OSRAM will also speak in a seminar session in the Workshop Hub area of the show, discussing vehicle lighting and the impact of glare on the roads, including the reasons behind it and poor bulb quality.
Headlight glare is a topic that continues to dominate discussions in the aftermarket, as well as among drivers, and Ring and OSRAM have been vocal in its opinions on what’s causing it – and it is not all down to the use of LED bulbs. The seminar will explain how poor quality bulbs are also a contributing factor, the importance of alignment and how modern technology while designed to help may be a hindrance.
Titled ‘Shining a light on poor bulb quality’, Marketing Director, Henry Bisson and Product Manager for bulbs, Carl Harrison, will be discussing the challenges poor quality bulbs present, the advances in LED and halogen technology and the future for automotive lighting on 5th June at 10.30am in the Workshop Hub.
Henry Bisson, Marketing Director at Ring, said: “We’re happy that the organisers of Automechanika Birmingham asked us to take part in their seminar programme. Lighting is a hot topic at the minute as there’s a lot of misunderstanding around dazzling light and the cause of this. Our seminar will tackle this problem head on and educate technicians as to how they can discuss this topic with their customers. We look forward to hosting this discussion and welcome people to come prepared with questions and comments.”
