Payment Assist launches IGNITION: an all-in-one payment platform for UK motor traders

Payment Assist has launched IGNITION, an all-in-one payment platform designed specifically for the automotive sector

Payment Assist has launched IGNITION, an all-in-one payment platform designed specifically for the automotive sector. The new service gives dealerships, bodyshops, garages and fitters a single place to manage customer payments.

IGNITION builds on Payment Assist’s well-established position in the automotive finance market, where the company has helped more than a million motorists spread the cost of essential vehicle repairs through flexible payment solutions. The new platform expands that proposition by combining payments and finance together within a single secure solution.

For motor traders, the platform provides access to a range of options designed to help customers manage the cost of repairs, servicing and other automotive purchases. These include interest-free short-term finance over three, four, six and nine months, Pay in 30 Days, longer-term interest-bearing finance and a range of business lending products.

The new solution also incorporates Pay by Bank, which allows customers to make secure bank-to-bank payments directly from their account. This provides faster settlement and lower processing costs compared to traditional card payments, while creating a far simpler payment experience for customers. IGNITION is designed to work for every type of business, from independent workshops to multi-site dealer groups. It provides secure, PCI DSS-compliant payment processing, competitive transaction fees and fast settlement, while removing the complexity of managing separate payment solutions.

Commenting on the launch, Chris Masters, chief commercial officer of Payment Assist, said: “IGNITION is another important step forward for Payment Assist and, more importantly, for the 9,000 automotive businesses we already support. Motor traders want to give customers choice when it comes to paying for repairs, servicing and other purchases, but managing multiple payment providers can add unnecessary complexity.

“Our new platform brings those payment and finance options together in one place, making it easier for garages and dealers to take payments securely, give customers greater flexibility and ultimately remove hassle from the payment process.”
