Accurate drum brake adjustment with this two-piece tool set

Laser Tools has recently introduced a pair of rear brake adjustment tools

Laser Tools has recently introduced a pair of rear brake adjustment tools (part number 9251), a set of purpose-shaped levers that make adjusting rear drum brakes straightforward, fast and reliable. Designed for cars, vans and many EVs that retain drum-type rear brakes, the 9251 lets technicians access and operate adjusters through the backplate or manually pre-set shoes when the drum is removed.

  • Precise adjustment: shaped blades engage common adjuster slots for accurate control of shoe-to-drum clearance.

  • Two sizes for best access: the pair covers tight and more open access points so technicians can choose the best tool for the job. Tool A — overall length 153 mm; tapered blade width 8 mm tapering to 1.0 mm & 1.8 mm and Tool B — overall length 80 mm; tapered blade width 8 mm tapering to 0.8 mm & 1.8 mm.

  • Speeds up routine service work: removes fiddly, improvised methods and reduces repeat adjustment trips.

  • Durable workshop construction: built for repeated use in commercial garages and fleet depots. Manufactured from strong chrome molybdenum, with a black phosphate finish.

Designed to adjust rear drum-brake systems found on many cars, vans and electric vehicles — ideal where access to the adjuster is via the brake back plate or where the drum has been removed for pre-setting. Use as part of standard brake adjustment procedures following the vehicle manufacturer recommendations.
