OSRAM inspection lamps hit the market this October

As the parent company of Ring, all Ring Inspection lamps will transition to OSRAM

As the parent company of Ring, all Ring Inspection lamps will transition to OSRAM.

As part of its strategic growth to expand its portfolio and increase its brand presence, it has been announced that moving forward, inspection lamp ranges will move from Ring branding into OSRAM branding.

Professionals who trust Ring for reliability and value will now find those same products under the OSRAM name. The move reflects a strategic decision to streamline manufacturing and branding under OSRAM, bringing trusted products under a name synonymous with more than 100 years of lighting expertise. This strategic move simplifies the range, enhances quality and design and offers customers greater access through OSRAM’s global reach.

The transition will include a refreshed product range totalling 29 products, some completely new products, updated marketing materials and an expanded offering across OSRAM’s Automotive Care and Equipment (ACE) line, including torches and related accessories. For customers, it means access to a more unified, globally recognised range built to meet the evolving needs of workshops, garages and trade professionals.

Throughout Europe, these inspection lamps are already available in OSRAM branding, yet the companies decided to keep the range in Ring branding when they became their parent company in 2019 due to the strong brand presence Ring had in the UK and Ireland.

Marketing Director at Ring, Henry Bisson, said: “With OSRAM’s OE pedigree, this is a strategic move that makes sense for both companies in the aftermarket. These product ranges are already established under the OSRAM brand across Europe and are well received, so it made logistical sense to make the branding the same for the products globally.

“The products will be the same, if not very similar, it’ll just be the brand that will be different. Therefore, we want to reassure people that they are not losing Ring products, but gaining an OE brand for their vision needs.”

“This is a continuation of the new 3-in1 worklamp and the torches that OSRAM launched earlier this year, which have been met with rave reviews.”

“While this may seem like a big change for both Ring and OSRAM, we’re just trying to consolidate our product offerings into the brands that make the most logistical and logical sense for the aftermarket. We’ve been very excited from the feedback we’ve already had on the new OSRAM products, and we look forward to this exciting new change for both companies.”
